Description

This DNA test is utilized when an alleged parent is either missing or deceased and both alleged grandparents are available for testing to prove relation. Though including the child’s mother is not required, but is highly recommended for the most accurate results.

A child inherits exactly 50% of their genes from its biological mother and 50% from its biological father, and therefore shares exactly 25% of their genes with each biological grandparent. If both biological parents of the alleged father are tested and they do not possess the paternal genes between them, then they are ruled out as the biological grandparents. When both biological parents of the alleged father possess the paternal genes between them, they are not excluded as the biological grandparents.

All Endeavor DNA Laboratories’ missing parent analysis tests utilize stringent, validated testing procedures and include up to 22 STR loci plus the gender identification marker amelogenin in order to achieve 100% accurate results.
