If you require a paternity test before birth, Endeavor DNA Laboratories offers both DNA testing by Amniocentesis or CVS, as well as a non-invasive option to receive accurate answers with the added option of fetal gender determination at no additional cost.
Amniocentesis or CVS– Paternity testing can be performed by obtaining fetal DNA through either amniocentesis or chorionic villus sampling (CVS). Both will require participation of your OBGYN. While this method produces accurate results, these medical procedures do present a risk of miscarriage.
Non-invasive– Instead of using amniotic fluid or CVS, this procedure requires a blood sample from the mother and alleged father. We are accurately determine paternity by testing fetal DNA that is present in the mother’s blood stream after the 8th week of pregnancy. We currently do not offer this type of prenatal test.
